Millennials and Video Content Marketing go Hand in Hand

Successful associations understand that millennials will make up the majority of their membership in just 10 short years. What can your association do to attract and retain the generation that grew up with digital technology?

Video...and more Video

Growing up with technology and more "screen time" than previous generations, means many Millennials are visual learners. Not only that, they expect to be entertained when they are consuming content. Millenials are not typically joiners, and are wary of paying for memberships. They expect to get whatever content that your association is offering for free - just by doing a quick search on the internet. After all, that's what the internet is about, isn't it?

As a progressive association it's up to you to develop a strategy that is going put you in a position to succeed with millennials. Now is the time to develop and enhance your video content marketing. Ideally, you are presenting enticing free video content to your members and prospective members, leaving them wanting more from your organization.

The good news is that if you apply the proper principals to your video strategy, you can produce and distribute video content without any cost to your assocation. Creating non-dues revenue through sponsorship, advertising, and syndication can actually turn your video production in to a profit center. All it takes is a little planning and timing. If you don't adopt this mindset with videos/production, it can quickly become cost center that will be harder to justify on the budget line as association revenues continue to be squeezed.
